Six S/P standards that channel the spirit of the timeless troubadours like Townes Van Zandt and Hank Williams. Producer Chad Maize’s no frills, lo-fi recording aesthetic captures these songs in all their barroom beauty, presenting Ryan Pale and Sterling Mitchell’s harmonies in raw form, as if they were in the room singing them to you. Musical accompaniment from multi-instrumentalists Josh Cochran and Em Downing flesh out the tracks with new, as-yet unheard layers vacant from Sterling/Pale’s live shows as a duo, giving the songs new life on this tape.
